Privacy Policy

Account details — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the basic profile information Google returns (name, email). You can set a display name that appears on public comments and submitted recipes.

Content you create — saved recipes, hearts, comments, submitted recipes and their photos, journal entries (date, recipe, batch size, outcome, notes, optional photos) and pantry items.

Technical data — standard server and hosting logs such as IP address and browser type, used to keep the service running and secure.

Public: submitted recipes and their attached photos, comments, your display name, and aggregate heart counts.

Private to your account: saved recipes, journal entries, journal photos and pantry items. Journal photos are stored in a private bucket and shown only to you through short-lived signed links. Database access rules restrict every private table to the account that owns the row.

To operate your account, show your saves, journal and pantry, publish content you choose to make public, enforce plan limits, moderate reported comments, and keep the site secure. We don't sell your personal data.

The app runs on Lovable Cloud, which provides hosting, the database, authentication and file storage. Google is used only if you choose Google sign-in. Recommended Tools pages link to third-party retailers through affiliate links; once you follow a link, that retailer's own privacy policy applies.

We use cookies and browser storage that are necessary to keep you signed in and remember basic preferences. Signing out clears your session. On your first visit a banner lets you accept all cookies or keep only the essential ones; your choice is stored in your browser and you can change it by clearing site data.

Free accounts may see ads served by Google AdSense. The AdSense script is only loaded after you accept all cookies — if you choose "Essential only", no ad script, ad cookies or ad requests are loaded at all. Premium subscribers never see ads. Google may use cookies or device identifiers to serve and measure ads; see Google's own privacy and advertising policies for details.

Your content is kept while your account exists. You can delete individual saves, journal entries, pantry items, comments and submitted recipes at any time. If you delete your account, associated private data is removed; public content you posted may be removed or anonymised. Cancelling Premium never deletes anything — see the terms.

You can access and edit your content directly in the app and change your display name. Signed-in users can download a full copy of their data or submit a deletion request from data requests. If a specific privacy law applies to you, tell us in your request and we'll respond accordingly.

nowican.app is not directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
